Grand Victorian

In October 2009 we took a driving trip to Niagara Falls - Carmella had never been there - and stayed on the Canadian side in a charming little town called Niagara-by-the-Lake.  We chose the Grand Victorian, a stately manor built around 1870- the place was so big we had room to practice our ballroom dancing. Our hostess, Eva, was lovely and fun; she sat on a staircase and cheered on our waltz routine.  We had to step over her enormous Irish Wolfhound a few times but that was no big deal.  We also enjoyed exploring the town, and even took a salsa lesson at one of the restaurants.  We plan to return in 2010.

These trips always end up costing more than the trip itself.  Carmella was so taken with the lace curtains in our room that she ordered some for our office.  It would have been cheaper to just book the room again. Sigh.  They do look great though.

Oh yeah, I forgot... we saw the falls as well...
